This is one the many books I review and recommend from the Diet and Health book reading list page that I have on my blog. After reading this review, you might want to check out that page if you are interested in starting a paleo/low-carb diet or if you have diabetes and you are struggling with the traditional low-fat/high grain diet the ADA recommends. This is an excellent and affordable cookbook you will want to have on your kindle. The recipes here are diverse, taste great, and actual real food and real dishes you have heard of before!
Adam Kosloff: 12 Essential Low Carb Cooking skills
Adam Kosloff, just so you know, is a friend of mine and also a member of the Disc of Light Media network, but that being said, he wasn’t my friend first. I became friends with Adam because of all the wonderful work he does with his writing and podcasting. He has many excellent books on low-carb dieting, as well as books on professional writing, which he does for a living. In addition to this, Adam also has a blog and podcast, called Escape from CalorieGate, which I have been on from time to time. This book is an EXCELLENT resource for anyone who wants to try carbohydrate restriction and not be doomed to the meat, chewing gum, diet soda, low carb cookie failures of most people who simple ‘do’ Atkins. Adam shows you (actually his father is the real chef, as he explains in the book) how to make satisfying meals out of real ingredients that taste great and actually resemble real food because they are real food, sans the extra sugar and starch. Low carbing is a fad, without a doubt, the way most people ‘do’ it. But cutting out the foods that make you gain weight and disrupt your metabolism and replacing them with foods that make you feel full and helps you burn fat is a way of life. Here is an affordable cookbook that will show you all the recipes to make your low-carb life, a real lifelong pursuit not just another dieting stage that eventually fails like all the rest.
